Beautiful hand-cut and polished Kentucky agate chunk from Estill county. On July 14, 2000, agate was officially designated Kentucky's State Rock, funny thing is Agate isn't a rock, ha!
Size is roughly 3.25" x 2.25" x 1.75" - 11 oz
Agate has delicate and varying shades of color arranged in layers. The color banding is usually related to chemical impurities; for example, iron gives a red or orange color and manganese or calcium gives black or blue color. The bands are typically irregular, curved, or concentric patterns.
Agates are very stable crystals. They are grounding stones, bringing out an emotional, physical, and intellectual balance. Agate is known to improve concentration, build confidence, enhance mental function, and raise one's consciousness.
